Just More Draft Speculation!

The Los Angeles Kings have one of the best tickets a team can handle, a 2nd overall pick in the 1st round of the 2008 Entry Draft. Now we may not have the 1st round pick or anything but we still have a very good chance of snagging a superstar in the making. Don't get me wrong, Tampa will have a cream of the crop kind of guy with Stamkos if that's the road they take but I seriously think most of the guys who are projected to go in the top 10 could all do the same or even more to their respected team. So what I'm trying to say is while Stamkos can up the scoring factor for Tampa, Doughty could do just as much for us defensively.

Now you may have seen my poll I've put up asking you who we're going to pick in the draft and this poll will decide who I'll do an entire blog on. I voted for Drew Doughty as he's got something we're going to desperately need in a year or two. Because if you look at our D right now you see an aging group of guys who aren't too reliable anymore like Rob Blake & Jon Klemm. So Drew would bring some youth to our team and will finally show me and all L.A. fans what a real defenseman looks like in the "new" NHL. So this is kind of like my own grocery list on what our Front Office needs to do (it's just regarding the defense position!):

#1: Draft Drew Doughty
#2: Let go of Rob Blake & Jon Klemm
#3: Then with 6.500 mil of our backs go sign at least one defender (if Drew is ready)
Here are the guys I'd sign: Adam Foote for around 5 mil and then sign Mike Commodore for around 1.457 mil.
#4: Sign Harold & Dallman as they are both still very young but I'd sign em' for a bit less.

So there is my wish-list for the Kings and if you disagree with anything just email me up at:

Now to close off my blog for today I'm just going to give all you guys who have never heard of Doughty just a quick snap-shot of him!

PS~
I really hope everyone keeps the Bourdon family in their prayers as Luc was a great player and it just hurt cause I met Luc on the last game of the season and he became my favourite player and than he just passes away!

RIP Luc
